Pressure sensors are useful in meteorological instruments, airplanes, cars, and any other machinery that implements pressure functions. It is precisely the requirements of the product’s purpose that pressure sensors require strict testing requirements. However, there are different types of pressure sensors, different product packaging, and different types of test seats, and their testing methods are also different:
1. Vacuum pressure sensor.
This term may cause confusion. It can be used to describe sensors that measure pressure below atmospheric pressure, displaying the difference between low pressure and atmospheric pressure, but it can also be used to describe sensors that measure absolute pressure relative to vacuum.
2. Differential pressure sensor.
This sensor measures the difference between two pressures, with each pressure connected to both sides of the sensor. Differential pressure sensors are used to measure many characteristics, such as pressure drop between oil filters or air filters, liquid level (by comparing the pressure above and below the liquid), or flow rate (by measuring pressure changes on limiters). Technically speaking, most pressure sensors are true differential pressure sensors; For example, an instrument pressure sensor is just a differential pressure sensor, with one side open to the surrounding atmosphere.
3. Seal the pressure sensor.
This sensor is similar to an instrument pressure sensor, but the difference is that it measures pressure relative to certain fixed pressures, rather than pressure relative to the surrounding atmospheric pressure (which varies depending on location and weather).
4. Absolute pressure sensor.
This sensor measures the pressure relative to an ideal vacuum.
5. Gauge pressure sensor.
This sensor measures pressure relative to atmospheric pressure. Tire pressure gauge is an example of instrument pressure measurement; When it indicates zero, the pressure it measures is the same as the ambient pressure.
