The main basis for the selection of pressure/differential pressure transmitter:Based on the properties of the measured medium, choose products that save money and are easy to install.If the measured medium is of high viscosity, or easy to crystallize, or strongly corroded, an isolated transmitter must be selected.

When selecting a diaphragm sensor, it is necessary to consider the corrosion of the measured fluid medium to the diaphragm metal. The quality of the diaphragm must be good, otherwise the outer diaphragm and flange will be corroded after a period of use, which is likely to cause equipment or personal accidents. The choice of box material is very critical. The diaphragm of the transmitter is made of ordinary stainless steel, 304 stainless steel, 316/316L stainless steel, tantalum and so on. 

In addition, the temperature of the measured medium needs to be considered. If the temperature is high, reaching 200°C to 400°C, the high temperature type should be selected, otherwise the silicone oil will vaporize and expand, making the measurement inaccurate.

The working pressure rating of the equipment and the pressure rating of the transmitter must be consistent with the application. From an economic point of view, the material of the outer membrane box and the insert part is more important, and it is necessary to choose the right one, but the connection of the flange can reduce the material requirements, such as the use of carbon steel, chrome plating, etc., which will save a lot of money.

It is best to use threaded connection for isolated pressure transmitters, which saves money and is easy to install.

For the selection of ordinary pressure and differential pressure transmitters, the corrosiveness of the measured medium should also be considered, but the temperature of the medium used can be disregarded, because the ordinary type is pressured into the gauge, and the temperature during long-term operation is Room temperature,But the general type uses more maintenance than the isolated type. The first is the problem of heat preservation. When the temperature is below zero, the pressure guiding tube will freeze, and the transmitter will not work or even be damaged. This requires the addition of heat tracing and incubators.

From an economic point of view, when selecting a transmitter, as long as the medium is not easy to crystallize, ordinary transmitters can be used, and for low-pressure easy to crystallize media, a purge medium can also be added for indirect measurement (as long as the process allows the use of purge liquid or gas).Ordinary transmitters require maintenance personnel to conduct regular inspections to confirm whether various pressure guiding pipes are leaking, whether the purging medium is normal, whether the heat preservation is good, etc., as long as the maintenance is good, a large number of ordinary transmitters will save a lot of one-time investment . Pay attention to the combination of hardware maintenance and soft maintenance during maintenance.

In terms of the measurement range of the transmitter, generally the transmitter has a certain range adjustable range, it is best to set the used range range to 1/4~3/4 of its range, so that the accuracy will be somewhat ensure,In practice, some applications (liquid level measurement) need to migrate the measuring range of the transmitter. The measuring range and migration amount are calculated according to the on-site installation position for migration. Migration can be divided into positive migration and negative migration. At present, smart transmitters have been quite popular. It is characterized by high accuracy, large adjustable range, and very convenient adjustment and good stability. More consideration should be given to the selection.
